Around the holidays it is very common to have extra visitors that come to stay in our homes. With the stress of the holidays this also means concerns about the appearance of your home. One major issue is the linen closet. Throughout the year we often cram sheets, towels, etc into the closet. It is important to remember not to hold onto more linens than needed. A good rule of thumb is to keep three sets of sheets per bed and three sets of towels, hand towels, and wash clothes per person. When buying a new set, always replace an old set (meaning throw out the old set). The three set rule means you can have one set in use, one in the dirty clothes hamper, and one clean in the closet. This rule will help assure that your linen closet remains clutter free, saving you from the embarrassment of your linen closet exploding on your house guests. Although it may be difficult to keep the rest of your house clean, at least you will know you have the linens under control!
