Some lenders may be willing to forgo certain fees because of the lower home loan demand in the fall. You should get pre-approved for a loan before you start shopping for a home, and you should shop around and get offers from at least three lenders. Compaare interest rates and terms and negotiate. You can tell one lender what another is offering to see if you can get a better deal. Fall and winter is also the best time to get a bargain on a brand-new home. Builders start discounting or offering incentives around September to sell as many homes as possible before the end of the year. And, finally, make sure you have an experienced real estate agent or realtor on your team to help you research and negotiate for the best terms.
