We all know we should recycle but there are some items some of us might not know how to recycle. Here they are: 1) Light bulbs - compact fluorescent light bulbs should not be thrown away because of small amount of mercury they contain. Can drop them off at Lowes, Home Depot as well as full service recycling centers. 2) Plastic Bags and Baggies - do not throw them away, re-use them first. Can drop them off at grocery stores, Wal-Mart, and Target. 3) Batteries - should not be thrown away due to heavy metals contained which can contaminate land and water. Drop them off at full service recycling centers, retailers, Earth911.org, and the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation which provide online directories to help you find battery recyclers near where you live. 4) Tattered Clothing - Goodwill wants them to sell for recycling or other uses such as sofa stuffing. 5) Ink and Toner Cartridges - printer cartridges can be refilled and recycled. You can also sell your old cartridges for a few cents to $20 per cartridge at various online sources or you can turn them in to Office Max, Staples, and Office Depot among others and earn a few dollars store credit. Recycling---good for the environment and good for us.
