Solar lights or lanterns are quick and easy to install in pathways, gardens, driveways, decks, porches and pool areas. They usually consist of a light on a stake with a solar panel and can be placed anywhere. They can easily be pulled up and moved if your plans change. Usually, no tools are required, there are no carbon dioxide emissions and they don't require electricity! The way solar lights work is that they collect energy from the sun and use the energy when the sky is dark in the form of LED lights. Another option is a combination LED/Halogen model which includes a motion sensor and a separate halogen light. When motion is detected, the bright halogen light turns on for about 3 minutes. Solar lights are very versatile because you can use them for more than just landscaping. You can also use them for illumination in sheds or other out buildings. These types of solar lights include a solar collector to be placed on the roof and a pull string light for the interior providing with you with an extra option for areas with no electricity. Solar lights not only provide aesthetic lighting but illumination and do it in a money-saving "green" way which is good for you and good for the environment!
