Are you planning to put your house on the market this summer? Even if it has been on the market for a few months, you may want to try sprucing things up a bit in order to attract buyers. You don't have to spend a ton of money on the project (especially since you are not planning on being there long), but there are a few touches here and there that can enhance your house. Give it a fresh look. Curb appeal should be the main focus because this is what first attracts buyers to your home. A nice, landscaped front yard is very helpful when selling your home. Your front door is also one of the first things your buyer will notice, so make sure it's in great shape by cleaning it or giving it a new paint job. Even with a problem like water damage, a new coat of paint can make your home look like new. Everyday living such as cooking or smoking can make the color fade from the paint making it seem old. A fresh coat of paint will help improve the appearance of your home. Flooring is also a key factor for buyers when shopping for a home. An outdated, poorly maintained floor can detract from other great selling points. Carpets also can harbor odors from pets and/or dirt from foot traffic. Replace the carpet if you need to with a neutral shade. You should also replace any cracked or chipped tile that you may have throughout the house. With a few touch ups throughout your home, the value will increase and buyers will be more interested!
