With the McAllen area and Rio Grande Valley growing at a rapid pace, new developments are going up fast. It's easier to see the future of the area surrounding an established neighborhood compared to  a new development. But new properites have their perks too.  You don't have to worry about remodeling any time soon and energy-efficient appliances are already installed. Chances are if you are buying a new construction, you like almost everything exactly as it is (which is why you're paying the extra money to buy new in the first place). Location, schools, and budget are the main factors when deciding whether or not to buy new. Talk to your local agent to find out which option would be best for you.
