Garage interiors are normally not one of the bragworthy features of a home mentioned or photographed when it is on the market. It is an area that is overlooked when considering adding value to a home as well. A nice garage with some attention to detail could actually make some potential buyers see it as an added bonus. Many of us just park our cars, store tools, and stack up boxes with junk in our garages, but that does not mean that you can't think outside the box. If you don't mind parking outside, maybe you could consider turning the garage into an extra family or game room. Some people even turn them into efficiency apartments for guests or tenants with an extra bathroom or kitchenette. If you do prefer to stay closer to the boundaries, maybe you could consider laying down a flooring other than concrete. You could paint the walls and add shelving or storage cupboards that add functionality and organization to the space while still being able to park your cars and store your lawn mower. It will definitely surprise buyers when they open the garage door and see a room that is both aesthetically pleasing and purposeful. It might be the feature that tips the scale in you and your home's favor.
