Needing a safe place to stay means that these Mexican Nationals are buying real estate in the Rio Grande Valley. This slowly rising flow of buyers is a good thing for our local housing markets and economy. It is what makes our area more resilient when other areas are suffering from the housing crisis and economy. It also benefits the Mexican Nationals in terms of having a more stable market to invest and protect their money while the value of the peso remains wobbly.
