Summer activities along with the Texas heat can turn your grass from bright green lushness to brown patches. Sometimes setting up that sprinkler or giving it a once over with the hose is not enough to compete with the 100 degree weather and trampling of feet. Yup, they make "food" just for you grass. If you have dirt patches, sprinkle specialized seedling-mulch-fertilizer mixtures to help ward off weeds. If your whole lawn looks like it went on a diet, sprinkle strong grass seedlings all over your yard to help make it healthy again. Be sure to use grass-specific fertilizers as opposed to all-purpose fertilizers which are usually for flowers and vegetables, not grass. Visit your local garden center or nursery to ask what they would recommend. These easy fixes will make your yard look great fast, just in time to recuperate with the cooler fall temperatures and rain.
