The cookie-cutter recommendation is to replace your filter once a month. Experts say it really depends on your unit, age of your home, and where the filters are located. It's good to keep an eye on your filter to determine the best schedule for switching out your filters. It may seem annoying to keep track, and buy and replace them so often, but it will save you major money in the long run. Besides, who in Texas wants their A/C to break in the middle of July? Exactly...change the filters.
