Spacious custom closets are becoming valuable selling points in the real estate market. Lack of closet space can therefore be a deal-breaker for some buyers. There is something to be said for a well-organized closet. Not only does it look nice and keep your wardrobe in better condition, it can also shave minutes off your morning routine. When everything has a place in your home you are less likely to lose or misplace items. This helps keep your home looking sharp and clutter-free. Most people with the usual closet space have their shoes lined (or piled) up on the floor. While some may opt to hang them in on of those attractive over the door vinyl shoe-holders, the best option for long shoe life is to place your shoes (in pairs) on shelves in an uncrowded fashion. Piling them up can scuff and smash the exterior of your shoes. Organize your shoes and clothes into categories so that like items are grouped together. For instance, organize clothes by color or season. You can also group them by use, such as work clothes, night wear, athletic wear, etc. It will be easier to find what you're looking for when you need it, and it will also let you know whether something is missing or not clean.
