It's good to be a Texan, and here's another reason. CNNMoney made a list of the 21 most recession-proof cities in the country. Six of those cities are in Texas. Austin ranked #3, Dallas ranked #7, El Paso ranked #9, Houston ranked #11, McAllen (that's right, I said McAllen) ranked #15, and San Antonio ranked #19. While New York had three cities on the list and our neighbor Oklahoma had two, other states only had one city, if any, make the cut. What considers these cities recession-proof? Stable housing and labor markets. These cities kept booming while others crashed, and showed little economic difference before and after the downturn. Texas is now officially the #1 relocation state for housing and jobs. Yeehaw y'all!
