The key to keeping your kitchen clutter free is a well organized pantry. Even if you do not have a designated closet area for your pantry space you can use any area in your home that you may store consumable goods. Stocking your pantry with commonly used goods is a great idea in case you ever have unexpected guests or maybe you cannot get to the store as often as you like. Organization is the key, so assign specific areas for specific types of food. This will make it easier when you are trying to locate your items. For those of you that have the issue of a small spaces there are a few solutions. 1) Look beyond the kitchen. "Provided that temperature and moisture are not issues, any room in the house is a candidate for pantry storage." 2) Disguise it: "For example, stack two large bulk-food storage containers and top with a plywood circle and round tablecloth. Who can tell this attractive end table is really storage space?" 3) Look high and low: Remember that all space in your kitchen can be utilized. It seems that our short lived winter weather is almost over. Although most of us have already started using our Air Conditioners again, you probably won't face many issues with the AC until the extremely hot temperatures come back. These three tips are very important to keep in mind if your A/C starts to act up. Try addressing these three issues before calling a repair technician. 1) Check your thermostat - Many thermostats are battery operated so make so to change out the batteries before panicking. 2) Check fuses and reset buttons - Try resetting the air conditioner's fuse at the electrical box. Look on to the air conditioning unit locate a reset button. The reset button can also act as a fuse. 3) Patience - If you have experienced a power outage or a blown circuit turn everything off and wait 15-20 minutes. After a tripped circuit it may take at least 15-20 minutes for everything to power back up. Have you ever walked into a home and while it looked styled & spotlessly clean, it felt kind of like a museum? While some people enjoy this for their home, it's not exactly a space that feels warm and inviting. A home should be comfortable and bring a smile to your face when you walk through the door. Fortunately, there are ways to be classic and beautiful without feeling like you are in a stuffy, uncomfortable area. 1.) Invest in everyday items : Decorating a home can become very costly, especially if you are spending money on items that are not useful. When deciding what items you should really save for, you should consider the items that you use most often. "For instance, a really comfortable chair, a shower head that gives the exact pressure and water distribution you want, or good kitchen knives." These items will not only last you a very long time, but will be put to use on a day to day basis. 2.) Banish Clutter : Have you ever noticed when your home is clean and free of clutter you feel more relaxed? A cluttered home can leave you stressed out and disorganized. Keep your smaller items organized by designating basket or trays for items such as mail, bills, newspaper, and magazines. "In short, an organized home is a happy home." 3.) Show your personality : Let your personality show off in your home by using bright colors and accents you really love. You don't have to conform to the "rules" of decorating. "Always remember that it's your home and walking in the door should bring a smile to your face." If you like neutrals just accentuate the neutrals with a few pops of color. Patterns are in and if you enjoy patterns the sky is the limit. 4.) Make Everyone Feel Welcome : Remember that is it important to make everyone feel welcome. If you have children or pets avoid putting expensive, breakable items where they can be broken. You can also invest in fabrics that are easy to clean and impossible to destroy. "Not only should kids feel welcome in their own home, but you don't always want to be worrying." Looking for a change in your bedroom? Start with the curtains! There are options for any of your style wants and needs.
1.) Silk - Draping your bedroom windows with silk can make your room feel romantic and luxurious. Try adding pleats, tassels, crystals, beads or buttons to make your silk curtains more unique. 2.) Combination - Use a mixture of sheers and opaques. This will allow you to keep the opaques open during the day while allowing some light to come through the sheers. Then you can close the opaques at night for more privacy. 3.) "Choose a traverse or gathered rod and cover the entire wall by hanging pleated window treatments from floor to ceiling." This will make a small room feel larger and give the appearance that the windows are larger than they actually are in reality. 4.) Metallic Finishes - If you would like to add more flare in your bedroom start with your hardware. Drapes that hang from large wooden rods in metallic finishes will give you a very dramatic look. 5.) Trim with Fabric - Add a simple, rectangular valance at the top of your windows. "It's a clean, unobstructed look that opens the room to light and color and adds the finishing touch — as long as the fabric in the valance matches what's on the pillows and bedding." Buying a home is the American Dream and it can often be very difficult to obtain a home loan. Before you start the process of purchasing a home take these 7 items into consideration. Being prepared for these 7 reasons will allow you to be proactive and take all necessary actions to avoid being denied for a home loan. 1.) Down Payment - Even if you have the 10-25% of the asking price on the home, lenders will like to know how you obtained the down payment and how long you have you have had access to the money. For example if you were given the down payment by a relative as a gift, the mortgage company may fear that you will not be able to maintain mortgage payments. 2.) Credit - Remember that credit history is an ongoing process. First, you should check your credit score with all 3 agencies to make sure nothing is being reported incorrectly. You will want to aim for a score of 660 or better. 3.) Job Security- Jumping from job to job is one thing that banks definitely frown upon. A steady job helps ensure the bank that you will not have problems paying your mortgage. 4.) Parent History- If your parent's credit history is questionable you may have a hard time receiving financing. If you know they have previously foreclosed or had late payments on their home or credit cards you may want to reconsider where you are trying to obtain financing. 5.) Location - Believe it or not the location of the home may affect whether a lender will risk lending you a mortgage. For example if the home will sit in areas that experience dangerous weather patterns the bank may have a hard time lending you the money. 6.) Inspection - Many banks are now requiring that a home inspection be completed before closing any deals. Unfortunately, they way a home scores on an inspection can weigh heavily on your mortgage. 7.) The Bank - Most people know that economic conditions have a large impact on the bank's ability to lend. "If a bank turns you down, look to other options before you decide to settle on thinking you can’t get a home. FHA, VHA, or a first time buyer program offer other alternatives for which you may qualify."
